Frank Lloyd Wright’s Wisconsin: How America’s Most Famous Architect Found Inspiration in His Home State, publishing on June 1, 2023, is part travel guide, part fireside chat with stewards of his designs—all in Wisconsin. Wright was born in Richland Center and many examples of his designs, including churches, apartment complexes, homes, corporate headquarters, and a conference center are all in Wisconsin. In the book I also detail three of his projects that have since been demolished: the Delavan Lake Yacht Club, the Geneva Hotel in Lake Geneva and Arthur R. Munkwitz Apartments in Milwaukee.
Wisconsin cheese is the best! No, really, I’m serious. I can say this because I wrote the book on cheese: Wisconsin Cheese Cookbook: Creamy, Cheesy, Sweet and Savory Recipes from the State’s Best Creameries. Filled with recipes from creameries around the state as well as in-depth profiles about the farmers, immigrants and foodies who craft award-winning cheese, the book published in March of 2019.
Wisconsin Farms and Farmers Markets: Tours, Trails and Attractions published in July of 2021 and is a guide to the state’s farmers markets, farm stays, pizza farms, Christmas-tree farms, U-pick orchards, county fairs, farm stands and vineyards.
All three books are sold at Boswell Book Company in Milwaukee as well as on Amazon.com (check out my author page) and Rowman & Littlefield’s website, and many independent bookshops around the country.
